B.K.S Iyengar said he had two teachers, Krishnamacharya and the wall. In class this week we explored using the wall in our asana practice. The wall can be used for grounding, stretching and stability. The wall can help us balance and take our attention to some of the other subtle details of our practice. At times we see the wall as a negative and feel we shouldn't need to use the wall. This week the wall was a positive. It was a support, a friend, a teacher. Even placing our mats in a different orientation in the room forced us to exercise our brains in a new way which is soooo good for all of us.
Switch it up- embrace the wall!
