Yesterday we explored what ‘strength’ means to us. Whether considering physical or emotional strength, we can broaden our view of what is considered ‘strong’ to experience a fuller, more compassionate practice. What could evolve if the notion of strength meant more than just powering or muscling through a posture, but instead allowing strength to include vulnerability and surrender? Does it not take great courage and strength to let go? There is strength in subtlety and power in allowing vulnerability.
Knowing when to ease up and when to meet challenge is a strength that proves to be an asset on and off the mat.
